A development company has been fined a total of £15,000 at Bournemouth Crown Court for exposing workers and members of the public to asbestos while carrying out construction work at a property in Poole.

THE asbestos timebomb has claimed another victim – a North Yorkshire man believed to have been exposed to the deadly dust more than 30 years ago.
An inquest was told Sydney Cutsforth, of Beechwood Grove, Sherburn-in-Elmet, died on September 30 last year in St Leonard’s Hospice, York, at the age of 64.

The death of an antiques dealer has been blamed on asbestos, after he breathed in the material when he worked down a coal mine earlier in his life.
Michael Hallam, 72, of Hartshorne, died at his home earlier this year, and a coroner’s inquiry has recorded a death by industrial disease, reports the Burton Mail.
